There is a difficulty that many women who have been exposed to the message of grace face as far as prayer is concerned, seeing that grace announces that Christ has accomplished everything. Given Christ has accomplished everything how can we therefore pray effectively according to the New Testament?
Prayer is not necessarily asking for something or requesting for God’s assistance or intervention in a situation of our lives. Prayer is an open ground of communication with the Father.
There is a weakness in the domain of prayer that has crept into the church as a result of the failure to understand the purpose of prayer. Through a life of prayer the your keep an open line of communication with God whereby there is an existing intimacy with God which enables you to live in the best of God on a daily basis and you receive constantly from God’s thoughts.
Without a living prayer-life corruption finds entrance and you are weak. Prayer maintains our alertness to the things of God and the Spirit of God is able to dictate everything that we do and the direction in the course of our different realms of our lives.
In my personal experience of Christ and the word of God, I have come to realize there are several prayer requests that the believer should abide in, beyond the prayer of thanksgiving, which grants access to all things in Christ. One of them is the prayer of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:16-20 for wisdom and for understanding of the expectation attached to our calling as sons of God and His purpose.
